No haircut for the last six months, equates to locks resembling rat's tails. So I decided it was time I booked in at Manchester city centre hair salon, David Rozman, for much more than just pest control.
This was my first visit to David Rozman's and I felt like I was cheating on my old hairdresser but with the salon being only a stone's throw away from the office and rave reviews about the treatments and service, I was sold. I could sneak away from the daily grindstone and be back in time to carry on with my working day, looking and feeling good. Convenient and inviting, my old hairdresser would just have to get over it.
As soon as I stepped into the salon I knew I was in for a treat. It had a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere and I was immediately greeted by David who whisked me to a chair to talk through my hair care desires. I explained how I had to use the straightening irons constantly to keep my hair straight and that I was considering getting another fringe cut. David talked me through what he thought would be best for my hair and he recommended a good trim and to hang fire on the fringe decision until he’d cut my hair first. No pressure and some genuinely sound advice.
Following the consultation, I was taken to get my hair washed. Now as we know, those hairdressing sinks can be a little uncomfortable, but as soon as I sank my head back and one of David's team washed my tresses and gave me a good old head massage, it was sheer bliss.
After my hair had been shampooed with Pureology followed by a personalised treatment re-nourishing my hair, it was time to let David work his magic. Even though we had decided on a bit of trim, David said it would be better to cut a bit more off as currently I had two lengths of hair - the result of growing previous fringes out - plus the ends required a good tidy up. For once, the idea of having the chop didn’t fill me with dread as I trusted David and felt comfortable in the salon.
Once my hair had been cut, it was time for the big decision, to fringe or not to fringe? David showed me my options and between us we agreed a slight sweeping fringe would be best considering I had a natural wave to my hair. He snipped and immediately this was the crowning glory to my cut. I’d never had fringes cut like this before - normally a hairdresser would simply snip away whilst my hair was wet and I would have no idea of what the outcome would be until they had dried my hair. David’s method was the perfect way, in my opinion, as you could decide before the big snip how a fringe would work with the cut. It was then time for the finishing blow dry touches where David gave my hair a little more bounce with a slight curl at the end. This made a refreshing change to my poker straight ironed hair or simply left to dry Jilly Cooper frizz look.
The result was fantastic. My hair looked healthy and shiny and I had a good style that I could easily manage, as David made sure he consulted with me every step of the way and made sure that if he did cut a fringe I would be able to maintain it. So if you're looking for a new hairdresser who listens to their clients every need and is in a convenient place then look no further than David Rozman on Lincoln Square.
